Policy and Terms of Use
I was one of a few authors of Etsy's House Rules, aka terms of use. My primary goal in writing about legal concepts is to gain user trust by translating complex concepts into user friendly language. My efforts were recognized by Professor David Hoffman in his law article, Relational Contracts of Adhesion.
Public Relations
I wrote communications and responded to press inquires about sensitive topics, including Etsy policy changes and controversial items listed on the website.
Philanthropy
I managed Etsy's philanthropy fund and founded its disaster relief program by partnering with Cerf+, a non-profit dedicated to helping artist recover after natural disasters.
Corporate Social Responsibility
In addition to being the decision maker on what to allow or not allow in Etsy's marketplace, I established partnerships with multiple NGOs and government agencies to make informed decisions, including the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and the US Wildlife Trafficking Alliance. I spoke publicly about Etsy's dedication to an ethical marketplace at the White House, United Nations, and National Geographic.
In my spare time, I am a contributor and editor for Mommy Poppins, a website dedicated to helping families find fun activities to do with their kids.
It is no secret how much I love New York. In the rest of my spare time, I enjoy writing travel guides remembering some of my fondest outings there.
